PRISCILLA'S BACK

In the mid-90s a bright silver bus made a trip across the desert, capturing the hearts and imaginations of the world in the process. To say that Priscilla Queen of the Desert was a hit would be an understatement. The film, directed by Stephan Elliot and starring Guy Pearce, Terence Stamp and Hugo Weaving, grossed more than $57 million around the world and even picked up an Academy Award.

Now, many years later, Priscilla is set to do it all again with the musical stage version of the film opening to packed houses at Sydney’s Star City Casino. The musical, which stars Tony Sheldon, Daniel Scott and Jeremy Stanford, captures the spirit, passion and frocks of the film and is sure to play for years to come.

In her review of the show, Stagenoise.com’s Gabby Bermingham said, “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert is not just a musical. It’s an experience. It is fun, funny, fantastic, flamboyant and everything the original movie was and more. Much more.”

We were lucky enough to take the StagenoiseTV cameras along to the media launch of this fabulous musical and capture a bit of the spirit of the show, while also sitting down for a chat with Daniel Scott. So, if there was any question about whether or not you would go and see this fabulous new show then this video should answer a few questions.
