Australian theatre fans are in for a real treat next year thanks to the Sydney Theatre Company’s 2007 Season. With a mix of the old and the new STC deliver an incredible program of theatre that promises to take audiences on many great journeys.

The chief highlight of the season is Oscar winning actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman coming to Sydney to direct Hugo Weaving in Andrew Upton’s Riflemind. Although rumours of this were circling earlier this year, it has now been confirmed and promises a real treat for Australian audiences.

Another highlight will be acclaimed actor Cate Blanchett directing David Harrower’s Blackbird. The hit of last year’s Edinburgh Festival, this play has also enjoyed a successful season in the West End where its powerful storyline has enthralled audiences.

Ying Tong: A Walk With The Goons is a moving and funny show that is inspired by the much-loved performing style of the famous Goon Show.
