A Few Words for StageNoise

By Queenie Van De Zandt

Darlz,

I'm afraid I'm getting a bit of a reputation:

You know how certain performers are known for putting "bums on seats"? Wellll I’m getting known for "closing shows".

My first leading role in a musical was as Vicky Nichols in The Full Monty (closed early during its Melbourne run).

I followed that up with Eureka – The Musical (closed after an even shorter season in Melbourne). And earlier this year I was cast in Floyd Collins (never even had a run, or a rehearsal for that matter).

And my talent for closing shows doesn't end there – it reaches beyond theatres and into people's lounge-rooms. That's right, I’ve even closed TV shows. Remember Let Loose Live – Channel 7’s comedy show of 2005? No, thought not: axed after two weeks.

A Few Words for StageNoise

Yes – it's quite a talent, which I'm happy to say does not extend to shows I’ve written. Yet.

So I invite you to please keep it that way and put your bums on the seats at the Statement Cabaret Lounge either this Saturday 20th October or next Saturday 27th October – where I will be performing in my brand new cabaret show: CABARET – IN 12 EASY STEPS

Luv, Queenie

Statement Cabaret Lounge (under the State Theatre, 49 Market Street); Bookings: Ticketmaster 136 100 or www.ticketmaster.com.au
