The long-awaited return of last January’s sold-out season of Jasper Jones is here and if you didn’t see it then, or even if you did, you really ought to catch it this time around.

Having re-read my review from 7 January 2016, I have little to add except that the “weaselly, jug-eared little shit” Warwick is no longer Kate Mulvany but is instead a “weaselly big shit” and now played by the splendid Kate Box. She is also Mrs Bucktin, of course, and is taller yet similarly empathetic to the Mulvany creation.

Steve Rodgers’ roles as the ghostly Mr Bucktin and less present but more present Mad Jack Lionel are now in the more than capable hands of Steve Le Marquand and, on opening night, Anne Louise Sarks’ production was as enthusiastically received as it was last summer.
