RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, and it is an online way for you to get a quick list of the latest news, headlines and content from your favourite websites (like Stage Noise!).
Say you have a lot of websites in your favourites that you like to visit. To visit them all would take a long time. With RSS, you can subscribe to their content and get 'fed' the latest headlines and links all in the one spot. So it becomes really easy to see what's new on your favourite sites!
How can I subscribe?
By copying and pasting the URLs mentioned above into your favourite news reader, or clicking on the links we have placed on here for you!
But what is a news reader?
A news reader is a piece of software you can use to read RSS feeds you have subscribed to. News readers are to RSS feeds what Hotmail is to e-mail. To read a list of newsreaders and see which one is best for you, click here.
RSS as Live Bookmark
Browsers such as Safari, Firefox and Internet Explorer 7 allow you to add RSS feeds to your favourites as 'live bookmarks'. When you visit a site that offers an RSS feed (like Stage Noise) you will see a little icon in the URL/address bar. This will be orange and say RSS or 'add to live bookmarks'. Add the feed as a Live Bookmark and you're done! You can then access the live bookmark to read the site's latest headlines!
RSS is a great way to enjoy all the great content Stage Noise offers!
