RULES

All entries must be received by 5pm AEST, June 30, 2007.

1. All songs entered into the competition must be original.

2. The songs may be written by multiple writers and the entered recording doesn’t have to feature the writer(s) singing (please mention the singer in your entry if this is the case). The division of prizes amongst co-writers is the responsibility of the winners.

3. The competition is open to both amateur and professional songwriters from all over the world. StageNoise.com employees and the judges are not eligible.

4. Only one song may be entered per writer.

5. All mp3s should be encoded at no less than 80 kbps and no more than 128 kbps to facilitate playing on StageCast.

6. All entries will be screened by a preliminary judging panel who will then select a short list for playing on StageCast. Once the deadline has passed, the judging panel will choose 10 finalists from the short list. StageNoise.com readers will then have the chance to vote (ONE vote per person) on their favourite from the top 10. The 5 songs with the most votes will be sent to our finalist judging panel who will select a winner.

7. The short listed entries will be announced throughout the competition with the top ten being announced by the end of July and the winners being announced in September. Although every effort will be made to adhere to these dates StageNoise.com will not be held liable for any delays. Winners will be notified by email. The winner will also have to sign a declaration that the song is original and that they own the rights to it. Failure to sign the form will result in an alternate winner being selected.

8. Prizes: Winner will receive over AU$1000 in prizes. Each short listed song will receive a prize worth over AU$50. There will be no transfer and substitution of prizes and StageNoise.com will not be responsible for any taxes/customs incurred on delivered prizes. All efforts will be made to ensure prizes are delivered in a timely fashion following the end of the competition however StageNoise.com will not take responsibility for any unforseen delay.

9. All entrants agree that if their song is short listed StageNoise.com has the right to play it on StageCast, produce a 30 second sound sample of the song and the option to include the complete song on a compilation CD to be used for promotional purposes only. It will not be sold.
