Pip and Han Inc. in association with bAKEHOUSE Theatre Company present The Carousel. Fresh off the back of a successful run with MerrigongX, this strictly limited season of The Carousel will close the Step Up Festival at the Kings Cross Theatre this March.

Christa and Jamie are sisters. Together they are embarking upon the treacherous transition between girlhood and womanhood. As girls they learn about the horrors of life, and as young women they inevitably start to live them. Christa wants Jamie to start living, Jamie refuses to leave the house.

A deadline. A pet spider. A bucket list budget.

The Carousel is a new Australian play that explores the limits of unconditional love between sisters. Written by emerging playwright Pippa Ellams and directed by Hannah Goodwin, The Carousel was shortlisted for the Rodney Seaborne Playwrights Award in 2015 and was developed through ArtsLab, Shopfront Arts Co-op’s residency program. This staging of The Carousel was produced with the assistance of MerrigongX.

Recommended for ages 15+. Contains strong language and adult themes.
