What does it mean to be a rainbow in a world of grey?

All a parent wishes for is a happy, healthy, normal child. A perfect bundle of joy to light up the family and carry on their legacy in the picture-perfect Town where everyone has their place.

So what happens when you suspect your child is not yours? Or worse, that your child is not a child at all?

When a Child begins to display strange, uncontrollable magical powers, fear, disgust and hatred brew in the Town. All the Child wants is a home, but all they’re getting are rumours and monster stories that are driving their family and world apart.

Presented through the lens of modernised folklore, 'Changeling' is a provocative confrontation on how we tell tales about disability and difference. This dark modern allegory reflects on how narrative spinning is weaponised to incite collective paranoia and tear a community apart. What is the cost of reclaiming your own narrative against a community consumed by fear and hatred?
